FAQ'S
These are the questions we’re asked most often about our handcrafted coffee and biscotti. If you don’t find the answer you need, we’re always just a message away.
-
How fresh is Aldo’s Coffee when I receive it?
All of our coffee is roasted in small batches throughout the week, and most orders ship 1 to 3 days off roast depending on rotation. Our model prioritizes constant roasting, not long-term storage, so your coffee always arrives within its ideal freshness window.
-
Do you roast coffee to order?
We roast continuously, not in massive batches. Coffee moves quickly through rotation, meaning you always receive coffee at peak freshness without needing “roast to order” claims.
-
Are Aldo’s beans 100% Arabica?
Yes — every single coffee we roast is 100% Arabica, chosen for smoothness, flavor, and premium quality. We never blend with Robusta.
-
Is Aldo’s Coffee Certified Organic?
Yes. Aldo’s proudly roasts Certified Organic coffees. Every origin and blend we offer meets USDA organic standards.
-
Why are Aldo’s dark roasts shiny?
Our French dark roasts reach the beginning of second crack, where natural oils migrate to the surface. This shine is normal, natural, and a sign of a proper dark roast — not age or over-roasting.
-
Will my coffee taste burnt or bitter?
Never. Our French dark roasts are intentionally crafted for bold, smooth flavor, with notes of bittersweet chocolate and toasted sugar — without ashiness or burnt flavors.
-
How should I store my coffee for maximum freshness?
Keep your coffee:
- In a cool, dry place
- Inside its kraft bag with the tin-tie sealed
- Away from light, heat, and moisture
Never refrigerate or freeze — this introduces moisture that dulls flavor.
- In a cool, dry place
-
Do your bags have a one-way valve?
Our standard kraft bags do not use a valve — they allow natural degassing through the kraft fibers. Only our pre-ground silver packets use valves. We are testing heat-sealed kraft bags with valves, but these are not part of our standard packaging.
-
How long does Aldo’s Coffee stay fresh?
Whole bean: Best by 28 days.
Pre-ground: Best by 21 days.
Freshness depends on oxygen exposure — not printed expiration dates — which is why our small-batch rotation matters so much. -
Do you offer pre-ground coffee?
Yes. We grind coffee fresh upon request using precise grind settings. Because ground coffee ages faster than whole bean, we recommend ordering only what you’ll use within two to three weeks.
-
What grinding option should I choose for my brew method?
French Press: Coarse
Drip Machine: Medium (paper) or Medium-Coarse (metal basket)
Pour Over: Medium-fine to Medium
Espresso: Fine
If unsure, we’ll recommend the perfect grind for your setup. -
What makes Aldo’s different from store-bought coffee?
Store coffee often sits for weeks or months. Aldo’s is roasted continuously throughout the week, moved quickly through rotation, and shipped at peak quality. You’re tasting coffee in the window it was meant to be enjoyed.
-
Do you use any artificial flavors or preservatives?
Never. All Aldo’s coffees and biscotti are free from artificial flavors, preservatives, seed oils, or additives. Just real coffee and real ingredients.
-
Why don’t you offer light roasts?
Aldo’s is rooted in European-style dark roasting, perfected since 1987. Our focus is on showcasing bold, smooth, balanced dark profiles that celebrate chocolate, toasted sugar, and roasted sweetness.
