Description

A café favorite, created in collaboration with Lavender by the Bay on Long Island's North Fork. We start with the same hand-shaped, twice-baked biscotti we've been making since 1987 — toasted almonds, real butter, egg whites, unbleached wheat flour — then fold in a measured amount of their culinary English lavender.

Lavender is easy to get wrong. Too much and it tastes like soap. We spent weeks adjusting the balance until the flavor settled exactly where we wanted it: an almond biscotti first, with a clean, lightly floral finish on the back of the palate. Subtle. Smooth. Never overpowering.

Crisp on the outside with a clean, satisfying bite, made by hand in small batches and baked fresh in Greenport. Built to dunk in coffee — especially alongside a medium roast or clean pour over.

A favorite of our café regulars. Many of them now come in specifically for these.

Ingredients

Unbleached wheat flour, almonds, sugar, egg whites, butter, English lavender, aluminum-free baking powder.

What makes our Biscotti special?

It's the ingredients and the process. We source artisan unbleached flour, American roasted almonds, pure butter, and culinary English lavender grown by Lavender by the Bay on the North Fork. Everything is hand-mixed, hand-shaped, and baked fresh in our café. Mass-market cookies rely on cheap fats, artificial flavorings, and preservatives. Aldo's biscotti offer an authentic Italian experience, twice-baked the way it should be — fresh from our oven to your door.

Lavender is easy to get wrong. We spent weeks balancing the flavor to create an almond biscotti first, with a clean, lightly floral finish that never overpowers. Handcrafted in small batches and baked fresh in Greenport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does lavender taste soapy or overpowering in biscotti?

Not ours. Culinary English lavender adds a light floral note over toasted almond — subtle and balanced, never overpowering.

Is this better with tea or coffee?

Both work. It's a natural fit with tea, and on the coffee side we like it alongside a medium roast or a clean pour over.

Is lavender a traditional Italian biscotti flavor?

No — the traditional flavors run to almond, anise, citrus, and spice. Lavender is a less common direction, which is exactly why we like it.

How should I store it?

Airtight container, room temperature. Full storage guidance is in our What Is Biscotti guide.
